Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Herashchenko expressed the opinion that if Western countries are not ready to close the skies over Ukraine, they must at least provide our country with modern air defence systems.
"The West must provide us with all weapons except nuclear weapons. No delays - immediately! No payment! Because we are fighting not only for our freedom but also for yours! We understand that you are not ready to make a no-fly zone over the territory of Ukraine. It is a direct war with Russia, for which you are not ready yet," Herashchenko said on Facebook.
"Then give us modern air defence systems capable of shooting down all types of aircraft and cruise missiles. Deliver them by military transport aircraft to military airfields in Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary. Then escort them to the border with Ukraine under cover of your air defence systems and hand them over to the Armed Forces. Immediately, teach our officers to use modern Western air defence systems, according to the abbreviated procedure," he urged.
Herashchenko stressed that if the West doesn't do it, the enemy's side will gain a complete advantage in the air, and then it will be much harder for Ukraine to defend both its freedom and the freedom of the Western world.
Anton Herashchenko called on the West to hurry, as Russia is currently committing genocide in Ukraine.
"The ultimate goal of Putin's invasion of Ukraine is to liberate Ukraine from the people of Ukraine. Or, in other words - genocide. Genocide of citizens of all nationalities "because the bombs, MLRS "GRAD", and cruise missiles like "Iskander" and "Kalibr" do not differentiate between who to kill - Ukrainians, Russians, Belarusians, Jews, Crimean Tatars, Hungarians, Romanians," Herashchenko said.
"Don't delay! Every day, every hour counts!" he concluded his appeal to Western countries.
