A Russian missile hit a foreign vessel docked at the Mykolayiv port today, the State Border Service of Ukraine has said.
According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, the Banglar Samriddhi bulker registered in Bangladesh was anchored off the port of Olvia.
A fire broke out after the missile hit the superstructure of the vessel. Two tugs were sent to rescue the crew.
The ship called at the Mykolayiv port on 23 February and was waiting to be loaded. It could not leave the area due to navigation restrictions imposed by the Russian Navy.
As reported earlier, the Ukrainian army and territorial defence forces repulsed the invading Russian troops in Mykolayiv and the region. The head of the regional state administration, Vitaliy Kim said that the curfew had been lifted.
