Occupiers destroyed honorary consulates of Slovenia and Azerbaijan in Kharkiv - Foreign Ministry

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has strongly condemned on its Facebook page the Russian military's shelling of the premises of foreign diplomatic missions in Ukraine.

As a result of rocket bombings by the Russian army in Mariupol, the building of the Greek Consulate General and the office of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission was damaged; the premises of the honorary consulates of Slovenia, Azerbaijan and Albania in Kharkiv were destroyed.

The Foreign Ministry said that Russia's armed attack on the premises of diplomatic missions is a gross violation of international humanitarian law, the Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic and Consular Relations.

"We call on the international community to condemn Russia for the barbaric shelling of civilian objects in Ukraine, which kills and injures civilians, including children," the statement said.

The Ukrainian side will add the facts of the destruction of the premises of foreign diplomatic missions on the territory of Ukraine to the lawsuits against Russia in international courts to bring Russia to full responsibility for its crimes.

As mentioned earlier, the Russian occupiers' missiles destroyed the Honorary consulate of Albania in Kharkiv.
