The president's wife, First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, asked to implement a no-fly zone over our country.

She said that the media from worldwide had recently asked her for interviews, so she wrote an open letter to Global Media.

"I want to respond to everyone with this letter at once. It is my testimony from Ukraine.

It was impossible to believe what happened a little over a week ago. My country was peaceful, and cities, towns, and villages were full of ordinary life. Then, on 24 February 2022, we all woke with the announcement of the beginning of the war. Tanks crossed the Ukrainian border; aircraft burst into our airspace. Missile launchers surrounded cities. I testify that despite the assurances of Kremlin propagandists, who call this invasion a "special operation," it is the killing of civilians! "Olena Zelenska wrote on Facebook.

She recalled the children who died due to airstrikes and shelling conducted by the Russian army.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion in Ukraine, 38 children have been killed, and 71 more have been injured

"When Russia says again that it is not a war against civilians, I will mention their names first," Zelenska said.

She also noted that people who need intensive care and ongoing treatment are in danger. Not to mention the thousands of cancer patients whose necessary access to chemotherapy and radiation therapy have now been delayed.

"The enemy thought he would capture Ukrainian cities with a blitzkrieg. But he suddenly met resistance not only from the Ukrainian army but from all the citizens. Ukrainian-speaking or Russian-speaking Ukrainians with different political ideas and different religious beliefs and the citizens of different nationalities; all of them united to face the invasion like never before.

Kremlin propagandists boasted that Ukrainians would greet them with flowers as liberators. But Ukrainians greet them with Molotov cocktails, "said the president's wife.

She thanked international organizations and countries for their support of Ukraine, providing humanitarian aid, accepting refugees, and providing them with asylum.

Zelenska emphasized that Ukraine wants peace but will defend its borders. She asked for a no-fly zone over the country to secure humanitarian corridors for civilians running from the war zone.

"In cities where the shelling doesn't stop, where people find themselves under rubble and can't get out of basements for days, even to get food, we need security corridors to bring humanitarian aid and civilians to safety. We require that those who have the power to do so, close our sky! Close the sky, and we will deal with the war on land, "said the First Lady of Ukraine.

She addressed the media worldwide to spread the truth about what is happening in Ukraine because, in the information war waged by Russia, every piece of evidence is crucial.

We should recall that Ukraine has been asking its partners to close our sky from Russian missiles and aircraft since the first day of a full-scale war. The closure of the sky means that the sky is patrolled by military aircraft, and air defense systems protect the airspace. When the sky is closed, all military planes that fly into the closed area are shot down.
