During the evacuation of civilians from Demydiv, Kyiv region, Russian troops opened fire. One policeman was killed and two were seriously wounded.
This was reported on Facebook by the Kyiv region police.
"Today, March 9, during another evacuation of people from the battlefield, the occupiers opened fire on police and civilians. One policeman was killed. Another police officer and a civilian were seriously wounded and taken to hospital," the statement said.
Senior Sergeant Oleksiy Ponomarenko, a Kyiv police officer, died heroically.
100 civilians, 30 of them children, were evacuated from the temporarily occupied city.
As reported earlier, the Russian Federation has given a public assurance that it guarantees a regime of silence today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the evacuation of civilians in several regions.
