On the night of 14 March, the Russian occupiers attacked the Rivne region.
According to the Rivne Military Administration head, Vitaliy Koval, the TV tower was damaged due to the airstrike.
"Specialists are working on the spot. The information is being clarified," the head added.
According to local media, two explosions took place near Rivne at about 5:30 am on 14 March.
The air alarm throughout the Rivne region lasted almost all night. The air alarm cancellation was announced at 7:39 am.
According to Vitaliy Koval, the airstrike destroyed the TV tower. TV and radio broadcasting does not work in the Rivne region.
"We will do everything possible and what depends on us to restore the work of TV and radio as soon as possible," said the head of the Rivne military administration.
Rivne TV Tower is located in the village of Antopil, about 15 km from the regional centre.
Update. According to updated data, two enemy missiles hit the Rivne TV tower, destroying the hardware. Some people remained under the rubble. The number of victims is currently being clarified.
The head of the Rivne military administration, Vitaliy Koval, stressed that the enemy wanted to cut people off from truthful information on the air of the UA Together telethon.
"There is positive news: we have evacuated several people from the rubble. They are alive and feeling well. We continue working. We hope that soon, we will restore radio and television through the tower," he said.
Koval clarified that the hit had damaged the TV tower and the administrative building nearby.
The State Special Communications Service clarified that as a result of the shelling of the BRT TV tower, the equipment of the TV tower in Rivne was currently disconnected, the damage was still being investigated.
Digital terrestrial broadcasting is temporarily unavailable. Specialists of the concern are doing everything possible to resume the broadcasting of Ukrainian TV channels.
