In Vorzel, Kyiv region, the Russian military killed Vasyl Kladko, an experimental physicist and deputy director of the Institute of Semiconductor Physics n.a V. Ye. Lashkariov of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
"On 13 March 2022, the Russian occupiers barbarically shot an experimental physicist, longtime Head of the Department, and Deputy Director of the Institute of Semiconductor Physics n.a V. Ye. Lashkariov of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology, professor, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Vasyl Kladko.".
Kladko managed to evacuate his family, but the occupiers entered the city, his colleagues said.
"And then happened what happened and the reasons for it, apart from their intentions to destroy Ukraine and Ukrainians, are unknown," the NAS wrote.
Professor Vasyl Kladko was 65 years old. He was born in the Rivne region. In 1986 he defended his Ph.D. thesis, in 2000 - his doctoral dissertation. In 2015, Vasyl Kladko was elected a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
