The General Staff reported that as of the morning of 16 March, the state, position and nature of the actions of the defence forces had not changed significantly during the last 24 hours. They noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had managed to inflict devastating blows on groups of occupying troops in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and, in some areas, to counterattack.
Following the results of the previous day, due to the actions of the air defence of the Air Force of the Armed Forces, three planes (two of them Su-34) were destroyed. In addition, the air defence shot down one helicopter, three operational-tactical UAVs and two cruise missiles. Additional information is currently being updated.
At the same time, the Air Force continued to launch missile and bomb strikes on ground targets. They carried out nine airstrikes on equipment convoys and clusters of the occupying troops.
According to the General Staff, the occupying forces continue to launch missile and bomb strikes on the infrastructure and densely populated areas of Ukrainian cities.
The enemy keeps suffering losses and retreating in certain areas. The primary efforts of the occupiers are focused on consolidating and maintaining the previously occupied frontiers and defence areas.
