Today around 10am Russian troops were shooting civilians in the center of Chernihiv.
This was reported in Suspilne media with reference to the regional police press service.
According to police, there were people killed and injured.
The exact number of casualties has not been established yet. The police and special services work at the scene.
“The Chernihiv resident, who witnessed the incident, told Suspilne on condition of anonymity that among the people shelled by Russian troops were those standing in the queue for water,” the statement reads.
Update. It is previously known that a number of people were killed and injured with a U.S. citizen among them.
This was announced by the head of the Main Department of the National Police in the Chernihiv region Volodymyr Nidzelskyy.
Police are working at the scene helping the victims and recording all the circumstances of the war crime.
