The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine announced suspicions to the rectors of seven Russian universities that supported the military invasion of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

All rectors were informed about the suspicion of appealing for violations of the territorial integrity of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Among the suspects are the rectors of the First Moscow State Medical University n. a. I.M. Sechenov, Riazan State Medical University n.a. I.P. Pavlov, Russian National Research Medical University n.a. І.М. Pyrohov, Bashkir State Medical University, Tver State Medical University, Moscow State Medical and Dentistry University n.a. O.I. Evdokimov, Medical Institute of "Russian University of Friendship of Nations."

"It has been established that on 4 March 2022, the official website of the Russian Union of Rectors published an appeal signed by about 300 heads of higher education institutions in support of the war in Ukraine. Similar public appeals to continue the criminal actions of the aggressor's army were published on the websites of specialized associations of Russian universities." the Prosecutor General's Office said.

SSU's central investigative department is currently conducting a pre-trial investigation into Russia's military and political authorities' organization of large-scale armed invasion and missiles bombings. These actions killed and wounded thousands of civilians and destroyed and damaged many objects of civilian infrastructure, which are not military targets, causing significant damage to the environment and public safety.
