On the third day of large-scale aggression against Ukraine (26 February 2022), for the first time Russia publicly acknowledged the death of its serviceman in a "special military operation in Ukraine." - the Head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov expressed condolences to the family of officer Nurmagomed Hajimagomedov, a native of the Dagestan republic.

This is stated in the message of the Idel-Ural movement.

When the number of killed occupiers numbered in the hundreds, the largest republic in the North Caucasus again emerged as the "leader" in the number of dead among other Russian regions. The exact number of losses from Dagestan is unknown, but it is far more than the official list of names.

According to locals, morgues in Belarus are overcrowded with corpses of the Russian military. In addition to purely technical reasons with their identification and delivery home, there is also an order: to inform about the losses gradually, not to shock the Russians with the true scale of the losses.

Sources in the periodical "Caucasus. Realities" report that at least 130 contractors from the republic died in Ukraine. However, even in senior management of the republic, people do not know the exact information about the losses.

It is noted that in Buynaksk, Dagestan, there is a permanent deployment point of the 136th separate motorized rifle brigade, actively involved in the war in Ukraine together with other units and formations of the 58th All-Russian Army. In addition, the percentage of Dagestanis among contractors in the Russian army is generally much higher than the average.

"Military service in Dagestan is one of the few options for men to break out of the bleak state into which Russian officials have plunged the republic. According to official statistics, Dagestan ranks third in Russia in birth rate and first in population growth. There are many young people in the republic. who cannot realize themselves due to lack of work, social elevators and social justice ". - said in the material.

Dagestan ranks first in Russia in terms of grants from the federal budget. Last year the republic received 77.5 billion rubles. According to the same statistics, in Dagestan, there is the lowest regional budget expenditures per capita in Russia - a little more than 69 thousand rubles.

In terms of unemployment, Dagestan officially took second place in Russia with 12.1%. But the real situation is even worse.

The Russian authorities promised the restoration of the Aukhiv district in Dagestan, so Chechens have been fighting for this restoration for more than 30 years now. Because in order to implement this decision, it is necessary to relocate the Lakts and Avars, who managed to settle here while the Chechens were in deportation. Lakts from Aukh are gradually being relocated to the Makhachkala region, but local kumyks are not thrilled about this.

Partisan war with the federal government under the auspices of the Caucasus Emirate and the Islamic State recently occured in the mountain regions of Dagestan. The armed confrontation here began in 1999, when the Russian army used artillery, missiles and aircraft against the villages of the Qadar Canyon.

Those who can, massively leave Dagestan for other regions of Russia, especially to big cities. In numerous regions, Dagestani compatriots have been already formed, which make a significant contribution to the general interethnic tension in society. But the young, hungry and evil contingent is still there in the republic itself.

It seems that Moscow found the way to get rid of troubled Dagestanis by turning them into cannon fodder in the war against Ukraine ... Military enlistment offices in Dagestan district offer to sign a contract to participate in the "special military operation" and are promised to be paid 177-215 thousand rubles a month, depending on the rank. As everywhere else in Russia, local Dagestani authorities are showing their loyalty to the Kremlin, chanting about "patriotic duty" and "fighting fascism." I wonder what these satraps will sing when Moscow, punished by sanctions, will no longer be able to provide sufficient financial resources to young, hungry and armed Dagestanis in Russian uniform? "- the authors of the article note.
