The Department of Defense of the United States continues to consult with a number of partners to strengthen Ukraine's system of long-range air defense equipment.
This was stated by Pentagon spokesman John Kirby, CNN reports.
"The United States is in constant talks with other countries to provide Ukraine with means of protection, including long-range air defense equipment, which, as far as we know, is convenient for them to use," said a spokesman for the Department of Defense.
The Head of Parliament of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk said that the representatives of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland, France, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Sweden, Great Britain, and the United States signed a joint statement "On the urgent need to modernize Ukraine's system of the air defense."
The Wall Street Journal reported that the United States might transfer to Ukraine Soviet air defense equipment, which they secretly purchased to study Soviet technology.
According to Sky Arabia, the United States is persuading Turkey to refuse from MPADS Russian S-400 and send them to Ukraine in exchange for canceling sanctions.
