The Crimean process reported that the Chervonogvardiyskyy district court of the occupied Crimea had fined the CEC Qurultay head, Zair Smedlyaev, 40,000 rubles for the post against the war in Ukraine.
Smedlyaev was found guilty of public actions aimed at discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.
Crimean Tatar activist Lutfiye Zudiyeva informed on Facebook that Smedlyaev was on trial for posting on social media on 1 March 2014 and 9 March 2022.
In the last post, the activist wrote: "How many more civilians, women, and newborns have to die for the world to begin to distinguish genocide from fuck knows what operations?".
Judge Kristina Pikula decided on the head of the CEC Qurultay.
Zudieva said that on the morning of 24 March, the police searched the detainee's home, confiscated his laptop, computer and phone, and did not allow calling any of his relatives, citing investigative actions.
