The Ukrainian military 93rd brigade "Kholodnyy Yar" with the help of territorial defense and local guerrillas liberated the city of Trostyanets in Sumy region from the Russian occupiers.
This was reported by the brigade's press service.
"Official information. Trostyanets has been liberated from Russian occupation. Today, the 93rd brigade called "Kholodnyy Yar", with the help of territorial defense and local guerrillas, liberated the town of Trostyanets in the Sumy region from Russian occupation troops," the statement said.
It is noted that they managed to drive the "elite" of the Russian ground forces, the Kantemirov Panzer Division, out of the city.
This was preceded by the defeat of the command post together with the leadership of the 96th separate reconnaissance brigade in the first days of the defense of Okhtyrka and the battles for Trostyanets.
After a series of setbacks, the Russian army fled Trostyanets, leaving behind weapons, equipment and ammunition. The Ukrainian military will use them to liberate other Ukrainian cities from occupation.
On 22 March, a large fire broke out in Trostyanets, which could not be extinguished for a long time due to fighting.
