The National Police press service reported that two schools and some civilian buildings were damaged due to the shelling of Chernihiv in the past 24 hours.
"Last night was marked by another enemy shelling of civilians in the Chernihiv region. The attacks damaged two schools and many civilian buildings in Chernihiv. The enemy also launched an airstrike on a village in the Chernihiv district and fired on a village in the Nizhyn district," the statement said.
The police have also identified seven people who may have been involved in sabotage and looting.
Police continue to provide targeted assistance to citizens forced into bomb shelters due to enemy attacks and document the consequences of artillery shelling.
The enemy deliberately destroyed the bridge connecting the city with the Kyiv direction. The pedestrian bridge is also now under constant crossfire. Therefore, it is not possible to arrange humanitarian corridors or take out the wounded. Chernihiv Mayor Vladyslav Atroshenko said he was looking for ways to evacuate the seriously injured.
