Armed Forces of Ukraine and Territorial defense forces of Kyiv are holding back the russian army, which is trying to break through the defense from the northwest and east to take control of key roads and settlements.
This was announced by General Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine on morning of March 28. General Staff informs that as of the 33rd day’s morning of heroic resistance of Ukrainian people to russian military invasion, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct a defensive operation in the Eastern, Southeastern and Northeastern directions. Ukrainian troops effectively deter offensive of russian enemy in the directions of Gulyaipole and Zaporizhia.
In Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian fighters repel assaults of russian occupiers near settlement Verkhnotoretske.
Defense operations and other tasks at some operational areas are being carried out in Volyn and Siversky directions. The situation is under control and has not changed significantly.
In the south the main efforts of Ukrainian Defense Forces are aimed at organizing defense activities in the cities Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhia and Mykolayiv, maintenance of certain parts of the sea coast, protection and defense of critical infrastructure. Stabilization and territorial defense tasks continue in some areas.
In Donetsk and Luhansk directions, Ukrainian Forces repelled 5 enemy attacks of Russian Federation per day. Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 2 tanks, infantry fighting vehicle and one vehicle. The russian enemies were also killed. Number is specified.
On Sunday, March 27, Air Forces of UFA destroyed 4 enemy planes, three of them - in the Kyiv region.
