Zelenskyy's video address: Ukraine is negotiating with russia because it seeks peace without delay

Ukraine's priorities in negotiations with russia are known. Its sovereignty and territorial integrity are beyond any doubt.

In his address, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that Ukraine requires effective security guarantees.

"Our goal is obvious; it is peace and the restoration of normal life as soon as possible," - he said.

The President emphasized that the negotiations occur because we are looking for peace without delay.

"As I was told, there is an opportunity and a need for a face-to-face meeting in Turkey. This is not bad. Let's wait for the result," - he said.

The President noted that the UAF (Armed Forces of Ukraine) hold occupiers' attacks and even move forward in some directions. The Head of State signed decrees about honoring 15 more militaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the title of "Hero of Ukraine"; three of them received the title posthumously.

" As well as the decree on the awarding of state awards to 142 militaries of the UAF and five militaries of the State Security Administration of Ukraine. It is a great honor for me to sign these decrees. Eternal memory to all our heroes. Eternal memory to everyone who sacrificed his life for Ukraine, for all of us," - he concluded.

Today the date of a new round of negotiations between Ukraine and the occupying country was defined; it will occur on 28-30 March 2022. The face-to-face meeting will take place in Turkey; Turkey repeatedly offered its territory for negotiations.

Before that, Ukrainian and russian delegations met in Belarus and held online talks. There were a total of five rounds of negotiations in total.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has repeatedly emphasized that he is ready to negotiate directly with Putin. The Head of the Ukrainian State is convinced that if the conversion goes poorly, it could be the beginning of the Third World War.

On 18 March 2022, the spokesman of the President of russia, Dmytro Pieskov, said that the need for a meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy would depend on the modality of the ceasefire document, which has yet to be agreed upon.

Our delegation does not discuss or plan to discuss the demands for "denazification" and "demilitarization" of Ukraine that Putin spoke about.
