The personnel of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant occupied by the Russian soldiers operated there since February 24 and was finally replaced. Yuri Fomichev, the mayor of Slavutych, informed about this on the air of the national telethon, "Ukrainian Pravda" informed.

"As for the rotation of personnel, we really managed to replace that personnel which was at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant on the first day of the large-scale invasion on February 24. For 26 days all station workers were held as hostages. We managed to replace people partially in order them to return to their families. We have found volunteers; they are real heroes, just like those who were there at that time. But it is a conscious decision of the people to go to work at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant, realizing that it could be a long time. We are constantly discussing the option to make the rotation of personnel more often. That should not last 20 days, but at least twice less and even the rotation should be more often. We are not talking about a complete restoration of the operation system and replacement of personnel, but negotiations about more frequent rotation are underway", the mayor said.

He added that communication with those people who are at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant is periodically kept by phone.

Please be reminded, that Yuri Fomichev has already informed in an interview with LB.ua that negotiations with the occupiers about further rotation of personnel were ongoing. The mayor proposed to replace the Chornobyl workers every 10 days.
