The one-time losses suffered by Ukraine since the Russian invasion have already reached $564.9 bn. This was reported by the First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to Svyrydenko, there are two methods of calculating losses. "The first is the assessment of losses from direct destruction, the second is the calculation of losses from the general impact of hostilities, i.e. all the consequences, including deteriorating economic situation in the country, rising unemployment, blocking trade, declining consumer demand, etc.," she said.
Svyrydenko said that currently, the loss of infrastructure is 119bn US dollars (destroyed and damaged almost 8 thousand km of roads, dozens of railway stations, airports); GDP losses in 2022 - 112bn US dollars; loss of civilian population (10 million square meters of housing, 200 thousand cars, food security for 5 million people) - 90.5bn US dollars; losses of enterprises and organizations - 80bn US dollars; losses of direct investment in the Ukrainian economy - 54bn US dollars; losses of the state budget - 48 bn US dollars.
The official noted that the numbers change every day and, unfortunately, they are growing.
"That is why Ukraine, despite all obstacles, will seek compensation from the aggressor. Both by court decisions and by transferring frozen assets of the Russian Federation to our state,” Yulia Svyrydenko stressed, adding that evil will inevitably be punished, and Russia will feel the full burden of its own criminal actions on the territory of Ukraine.
