The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has released operational information on the russian invasion as of 6 am on March 29, 2022.
The Defense Forces continue conducting a defense operation in the Eastern, Southeastern, and Northeastern directions. In all of them, the Ukrainian Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully hold back the enemy, and in some directions, our military carries out successful counterattacks.
The enemy continues to insidiously launch missile and bomb strikes, trying to destroy the infrastructure and residential areas of Ukrainian cities completely. It focuses on fuel storages to complicate logistics and create conditions for a humanitarian crisis.
In violation of international humanitarian law requirements, in some temporarily occupied settlements of Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions, the russian occupiers continue to terrorize the local population. They are shelling residential buildings, robbing, abducting, and taking hostage of civilians, engaging in looting.
The Grouping of United Forces repelled seven attacks of the enemy in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions during the day. Our combatants destroyed 12 tanks, ten infantry fighting vehicles, and three units of motor vehicles. The enemy suffered casualties.
During the previous day, defenders of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of Ukraine hit 17 air targets: 8 planes, 3 helicopters, 4 UAVs of various types, and two cruise missiles. Aircraft of the Air Force fired missile and bomb strikes at places of accumulation of enemy equipment and manpower. The losses of the russian occupiers are being clarified.
As reported earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repulsed Russian troops 40-60 kilometers from Kryvyi Rih. The actions of Ukrainian defenders helped liberate several settlements in the Kherson region.
