Fierce battles with the Russian occupiers are taking place in the city of Izyum.
The head of the Kharkiv region military administration Oleg Sinegubov reported about it in the Telegram.
Speaking about the situation in the region as of 28 March, Sinegubov noted that there were about 180 shellings by the enemy with multiple launch rocket systems, "including the Smerch type, which is prohibited by the relevant international treaties cluster munitions."
"Over the past day, the Russian occupation forces fired about 59 artillery and mortar shells. These are the areas of Saltivka, Oleksiyivka, Pyatihatky, Chuguiv, Dergachi," said the head of the Kharkiv region.
In some areas, the Ukrainian Armed Forces went on the counterattack, Sinegubov said. Thus, Mala Rohan is completely under the control of Ukrainian troops and "cleansed" from occupiers. "So is Vilkhivka. Husarivka, near Balaklia, has been liberated from the enemy," the head of the Kharkiv RMA added.
On 27 March UAF showed photos of the equipment which occupiers threw in the Kharkiv region after the Ukrainian fighters drove out Russians from Gusarivka.
On the same day, the air defense units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Izium district destroyed a Russian Su-34 fighter.
