Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, Ministry of Defense spokesperson, said he could not confirm or deny Ukraine's alleged involvement in the fuel depot fire in Belgorod, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"I want to emphasize that currently Ukraine is conducting a defense operation against the major assault by Russian forces on Ukraine. It does not mean that Ukraine should not automatically take responsibility for all miscalculations, all disasters and all events taking place in Russia. This is not the first time we face similar allegations. I will neither confirm nor deny this information", - he said.
On 1 April, a fire broke out at an oil depot in Belgorod, Russia. Eight fuel tanks are on fire. As a result, there are massive lines at the gas stations.
A russian official has alleged the Armed Forces of Ukraine were responsible for this. They claimed that the two Ukrainian military helicopters flew across the border “at a low altitude” and bombed a fuel depot.
A few days ago, a military weapons depot exploded in Belgorod. This event took place immediately after the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned about the danger of using old ammunition, which can explode and should always be treated with great care if it shows any signs of degradation. Belgorod is located 40 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
