The russians are forced to withdraw their troops from Chernihiv because of the moral and psychological state, the state of equipment, the provision of resources and ammunition.
This was stated in an interview by the commander of the troops of the Operational Command "North," Hero of Ukraine, Major General, Viktor Nikoliuk, reported Suspilne.
"The russians are forced to withdraw their troops from Chernihiv. Because we have inflicted damage to them and now their moral and psychological state, the state of equipment, the provision of resourses and ammunition, of course, makes them withdraw troops. It’s a fact, they are withdrawing troops, we are inflicting damage - we are expelling the enemy out of our territory," - said Nikoliuk.
According to him, the military are taking all measures so that the people can return to their homes as soon as possible. They are also taking measures to restore the infrastructure, it's electricity, water. The territories are being demined.
"I think we will carry all of this out within 5 days," - said commander.
According to his data, the Ukrainian military have already passed the southern borders of Chernihiv - Yahidne, Ivanivka, Zolotynka, Shestovytsia, Lukashivka, Sloboda. Today the territorial defense units enter the area. The demining continues, so that we can open the road connecting Kyiv and Chernihiv.
"The russians have announced the withdrawal, but it never actually happened. On the contrary, fighting continued, they inflicted aviation and artillery strikes, both on our units and on Chernihiv. They aimed for causing damage and threating the lives of the locals. Therefore, we continue performing out tasks. A number of military measures that forced them to begin ерушк retreat were taken," - added Nikoliuk.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy continues to block Chernihiv. At the same time, the troops of the central military district move to areas that are close to the state border of Ukraine.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that Sloboda in the Chernihiv region was freed from the occupiers. The village of Lukashivka was also returned under the control of the Ukrainian authorities.
