Roberta Metsola noted that Ukrainian authorities asked for amplification of the help during the meetings.
"Ukraine urgently needs help. We have already provided a lot of logistic, humanitarian, military, and financial support, but that is not enough. In Verkhovna Rada and at the meeting with President Zelenskyy, I promised to bring this appeal to the European Parliament and our colleagues in different states and various institutions," - said the President of the European Parliament.
Roberta Metsola visited Kyiv on April 1. This was the first visit by a top EU official to Ukraine since the Russian invasion.
During the visit, she said that Ukraine can count on the support of the European Parliament in gaining a status of a candidate country for accession.
On March 1, the European Parliament recommended that EU member states work to grant Ukraine a status of a candidate country for accession.
