Greece has the intention to resume the work of their Consulate General in Odesa.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias arrived in Odesa on April, 3. The Greek Foreign Minister met with the Mayor of Odesa - Gennadiy Trukhanov.

Dendias wrote about this on his Twitter page.

"I met today withthe Mayor of Odesa - Gennadiy Trukhanov. The discussion focused on the strong presence of the Greek Diaspora inOdesa, in light of the long-standing ties of Greece with the city, and the challenges it faces. (photos ΑΜΠΕ)" Nikos says. 

The press service of the Odesa Regional Military Administration (RMA) said that the Greek Foreign Minister handed over the humanitarian aid to the medical institutions of the Odesa region. He also noted that he intends to resume the work of the Greek Consulate General in Odesa.

In his turn, the chairman of the Odesa RMA Maksym Marchenko asked Nikos Dendias and his colleagues from the Government of Greece to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine protecting the Odesa region with powerful weapons, in particular air defense and anti-tank missile systems.

Earlier it was reported that the Greek Foreign Minister will personally accompany the humanitarian mission to Mariupol.
