Following the occupiers’ atrocities in the Kyiv region, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called on EU member states to immediately review their policy towards Russia, give Ukraine more effective weapons and tighten sanctions.
This was stated in the Prime Minister’s official Twitter account.
The Prime Minister called on the UN leaders to organize a meeting of the European Council as soon as possible. There, Poland will initiate the consideration of Russian war crimes and the introduction of effective sanctions.
"The massacre in Bucha is more than an alarm bell for Europe and the world. It is a terrible cry for justice, freedom and the right to life; for basic and universal values," Mateusz Morawiecki said.
He is convinced that the EU is obliged to impose sanctions that will really work. Among other things - the confiscation of all Russian assets and the severance of trade relations with Russia.
"Ukraine must receive more arms with which it can defend the women and children of Mariupol, Bucha and many other places. It is our political and moral duty. Enough of the false gestures and avoidance tactics. Enough! SAnctions don’t work. Cut Russian genocide off from its air supply!", Morawiecki stated.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson promised to "starve Russia's war machine." This is stated in a Twitter message.
"I will do everything in my power to starve Putin’s war machine. We are stepping up our sanctions and military support, as well as bolstering our humanitarian support package to help those in need on the ground," noted Boris Johnson.
The head of the British government noted that London has authorized additional financial support for the investigation of Russian crimes in Ukraine and will send investigators. According to him, the mass killings of Ukrainians show that Putin is in despair because his invasion is failing.
As previously reported, on April 1 the mayor of Bucha Anatoly Fedoruk in the video address reported that the city was liberated from the Russian invaders. On the morning of April 1, the Bucha City Council reported that the aggressor had mined a confectionery factory and poisoned cookies, and urged residents not to enter the site.
