Zelenskyy: Ukraine will Establish a Special Mechanism of Justice for Crimes Committed by the Occupants

The President of Ukraine took the decision to establish a special mechanism of justice in Ukraine to investigate and prosecute every crime committed by the occupants.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this in his address.

"The core of this mechanism is the joint work of national and international experts: investigators, prosecutors, and judges”, he said. “This mechanism will help Ukraine and the world bring to justice those who unleashed or participated in any way in the terrible war against the Ukrainian people and crimes against our people".

According to the President, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Prosecutor's Office, the National Police, the Security Service, intelligence, and other structures will take efforts within their competence to ensure the immediate activation of this mechanism.

"I call for all our citizens and friends of Ukraine worldwide to join this work and help establish justice,” added Volodymyr Zelenskyy. “The world has witnessed many war crimes at different times and on different continents. But now it's the time to do everything to make the war crimes of the russian military become the last manifestation of evil on Earth. Everyone guilty of these crimes will be listed in a special Book of Executioners; each will be found and punished".

The President also warned that after the removal of the occupants from the Ukrainian territory more mass atrocities might be found.

"More deaths and more torture. As this is the nature of the russian military, who came to our land. They are the monsters, and this is the only way they know. And those were the orders given to them,” he said. “All partners of Ukraine will be informed in details about the events that took place on the temporarily occupied territory of our State. War crimes in Bucha and other cities under russian occupation will be a subject for discussion at the UN Security Council on Tuesday".

According to the General Prosecutor of Ukraine, Iryna Venediktova, 410 bodies of civilians killed by the russians were removed from the Kyiv Region. "This hell has to be documented to punish the inhumans who made it happen on our land, and bring them to justice - I stress - in national and international courts", she wrote.

Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, called on the mission of the International Criminal Court to come to Bucha to get evidence of the war crimes committed by the russians.
