Skadovsk mayor leaves occupied city due to threats from russians

The mayor of Skadovsk in the Kherson region, Oleksandr Yakovlev, left the city due to constant threats from the invaders.

He wrote about this on Facebook.

"Given the constant threats and "proposals" for cooperation from the invaders, I was forced to leave the city. I understand that for many it would be calmer if I continued to stay in the city, but I was unequivocally told that either you cooperate or you go to the basement. Unequivocally, the benefits of the mayor in the cell are small,” he said.

Yakovlev added that he was in a safe city. He is in constant contact with the deputies, and the executive committee continues to work remotely.

“The work in the city and the community is well-established, all so far without significant changes. We plan payments to employees of the budget and communal spheres for the first half of April,” the statement reads.

The russian military entered Skadovsk on March 9.

As of April 3, the invaders held 11 heads of local communities from Kyiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk oblasts captive.
