Speaking at Saturday's opening ceremony of the Invictus Games in Hague, Prince Harry said "the world is united" with Ukraine.

This was reported by CNN.

Speaking about Ukrainian militaries and women who went to the Netherlands to compete, he said: “You told me yesterday when you decided to join us despite all odds, you said you came to be on this global stage, not simply to show your strength but to tell your truth, the truth, of what is happening in your country."

On the eve of the tournament, Prince Harry and his wife met with Ukrainian athletes, who presented him with the "Come Back Alive" Foundation calendar. The Foundation has been actively involved in preparing Ukrainian veterans for the Invictus Games for several years.

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, also paid tribute to the Ukrainian team.

"Unity and solidarity will always win out over confrontation and conflict, - he wrote on Twitter. - We stand shoulder to shoulder with the Ukrainian Invictus community. Some of them can’t be here because they are fighting on the frontlines. Others have lost their lives in the war. They are in our thoughts."

The Invictus Games is an international sports competition founded by Prince Harry, in which wounded militaries and veterans take part.

On 7 April 2022, the silver medalist of the Invictus Games, a warrior of the 24th Mechanized Brigade n.a. King Danylo, Dmytro Sydoruk, was killed in a battle with the russians.
