Since the beginning of the Russian attack on February 24, units of the National Guard of Ukraine have detained 1,733 people, 170 of whom belong to sabotage and reconnaissance groups. They were handed over to the Security Service of Ukraine.

This was announced during a press conference by the head of the public security department of the National Guard, Oleksandr Hrytsenko.

"Since the beginning of the Russian attack on February 24, National Guard units have detained 1,733 people, 170 of whom are representatives of sabotage and reconnaissance groups. They were handed over to the Security Service," he said.

According to him, 33 firearms and almost 500 rounds of ammunition, 15 cold steel weapons, 29 grenades and more than a kilogram of drugs were seized from the detainees, Hrytsenko added.

He urged citizens to be careful, given that the other day law enforcement officers found a trip wire in one of the capital's neighborhoods.

"Now our foot patrols are involved in public safety. We are doing everything possible to protect our citizens, "said the representative of the National Guard.

The first deputy minister of internal affairs of Ukraine, Evgeny Yenin, warned that on the eve of the Easter holidays, the occupants would intensify the activity of the reconnaissance and sabotage groups.
