Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres asked Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Volodymyr Putin to accept him in Kyiv and Moscow.

This was announced on Wednesday by the representative of the UN Secretary-General Stéphane Dujarric, reports "Interfax-Ukraine."

"Yesterday afternoon, some letters were handed to the missions of the Russian Federation and Ukraine. In these letters, the Secretary-General asked President Volodymyr Putin to accept him in Moscow, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to accept him in Kyiv," - said Dujarric.

He noted that Guterres would like to discuss with the two presidents urgent measures to establish peace in Ukraine, as well as the future of multilateral relations.

Earlier, the Secretary-General of the United Nations called on Russia and Ukraine to an Easter ceasefire, stop the bloodshed and "open a window for dialogue and peace." Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba urged Russia to hear Guterres and respond to his proposal.
