Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson stated, that Great Britain seeks ways to transfer Brimstone anti-ship missiles to Ukraine. In particular, to install them on vehicles, reports Reuters.
“One of the systems we are considering...is to see if we can install some Brimstones on the back of technicals to see if it will work,” Johnson said.
According to him, the British side is also considering other options.
According to Defense Express, the definition of “technical” in the West does not mean specialized technical vehicles, but passenger cars with weapons. Like when a large-caliber machine gun is installed on a pickup truck.
Such an idea regarding Brimstone is currently being discussed in London. After all, the main problem in supplying weapons to Ukraine from the West is that the two sides have incompatible weapon systems.
Brimstone missiles have previously been used by British forces in Libya and Syria, and are typically launched from fast jet aircraft.
Their manufacturer, MBDA, says they can be used against fast-moving land and sea targets.
Norway transferred the “Mistral” SAMs to Ukraine. Drone manufacturer Switchblade said it would send 100 drones and the Netherlands would send armored vehicles.
