Russia turns down Easter truce proposal

Russia's leadership has explained the call for a truce by the desire of ‘Kyiv nationalists’ to take a break and spread more ‘fakes’ about russian soldiers.

Russia has rejected a proposal by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to introduce a four-day Easter humanitarian pause in Ukraine. This was announced on Twitter by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Serhiy Kyslytsia.

Guterres called for an ‘Easter humanitarian pause’ from 21 April to organize humanitarian corridors and evacuate civilians. The position of moscow fuhrer was announced a few hours later at the Security Council”, the statement reads.

The diplomat also suggested listening to the cynical wording of the refusal of the leadership of the aggressor country from the armistice, publishing relevant footage.

In addition, Kislytsia reacted to the incorrect statement of the Spokesperson of the UN Secretary-General Stéphane Dujarric, that russia is allegedly one of the founding members of the Organization. This was said in the UN statement, that Guterres sent inquiries to Ukraine and russia on his request for an audience with the heads of state.

"Oops! What a blunder! One should remember that neither the russian soviet federal socialist republic, which retained its foreign ministry in 1945 nor russia was present in San Francisco and did not sign the Statute. If the Office of Stéphane Dujarric shows me a sign of RSFSR in San Francisco, I will call it a falsification. Russia is not a founding member!", the publication said.

The Representative of Ukraine reminded us that russia had not signed the UN Statute. Also, he expressed hope that the Secretariat of the Organization ‘will not continue to put itself in an awkward position”.

Earlier, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for an Easter truce, an end to the bloodshed, and ‘to open a window for the dialogue and peace’. Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on russia to listen to Guterres and respond to his proposal to declare an Easter truce in Ukraine.
