The Marshal of the Polish Senate Tomasz Grodski and the Speaker of the Senate of the Czech Parliament Milos Vystrcil signed an appeal to the Speakers of the Parliaments of the EU, NATO and democratic countries with a request to urgently supply weapons to Ukraine.
The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Czech Republic Yevhen Perebyinis published the text of the appeal on his Facebook page.
"The presidents of the Czech and Polish senates have appealed to the parliaments of all civilized countries to supply weapons to Ukraine. After visiting Bucha, Irpen and Borodyanka, the speakers are convinced that the crimes of the russian occupiers in Ukraine are genocide," Perebyinis said.
According to the appeal, after seeing in the Kyiv region the leaders of the senates have no doubt that "the crimes of russian invaders are genocide. According to people, especially in Bucha, russian soldiers staged horrific safaris and shot at people like animals. Innocent civilians were killed only because they represented a nation, which is denied to be existent by putin and his propagandists, who want to subjugate and erase an independent and sovereign state from the world map."
"The war is entering a crucial phase, and without an accelerated supply of heavy military equipment, we risk losing Ukraine to the russian empire, and we will see the slow agony of a country struggling like David and Goliath. Therefore, we call on all of you to use your powers and powers of your parliaments to mobilize representatives of your governments to ensure military supplies as soon as possible, which is what President Zelenskyy is so urging," Grodzky and Vystrchil said.
According to them, due to the madness of the russian dictator, no one can be sure that the fighting on the Dnipro will not move to the Vistula, Rhine, Seine or elsewhere. As history teaches us, concessions to aggressors or a policy of appeasement are the path to hell, which usually exacerbates conflict ... ".
"If we do not do enough to protect Ukraine, history will not forgive us," the authors of the appeal stressed.
It will be recalled that earlier President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that if our partners have the weapons Ukraine needs, it is their duty to help to protect the freedom and lives of people.
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson said that his country was looking for ways to hand over anti-ship Brimstone missiles to Ukraine.
