The humanitarian corridor previously agreed with the russian side for the evacuation of civilians from Mariupol did not work out as planned today.
This was announced by the Minister of Reintegration of the Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk.
"Unfortunately, the humanitarian corridor from Mariupol did not work as planned today. Due to the absence of control over their own troops on the ground, the occupiers could not ensure a proper ceasefire. Also, due to the inherent disorganization and negligence, the occupiers were not able to provide timely transportation of people to the location point where dozens of our buses and ambulances were waiting, Iryna wrote on her Facebook page.
Vereshchuk stressed that they would continue the evacuation in the Mariupol direction tomorrow morning.
"I appeal to our people in Mariupol: we will fight for each of you!" the Minister added.
At the same time, the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko said that some of the planned buses with the Mariupol residents were moving towards Zaporizhia by the route determined by Russia. He stated this on the broadcast telethon.
Kyrylenko said that much less of the claimed number of buses left. He promised to tell the details later and inform who of the residents of Mariupol got to the controlled territory as soon as they got in touch.
Earlier, the humanitarian corridor in Mariupol for the evacuation of civilians was announced in the morning by the Minister for Reintegration of the Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk.
