The Armed Forces of Ukraine now have more tanks on the ground than the russians, writes The Washington Post, citing sources in the Pentagon.
"Right now, the Ukrainians have more tanks in Ukraine than the russians… and they certainly have the purview to use them," the official said on condition of anonymity.
However, he noted that the relative number of tanks is not a determining factor of whose side has the advantage.
It was previously reported that the Ukrainian army had more tanks at the end of March than at the beginning of the war because it was constantly seizing them from russians.
On April 21, it was announced that Slovenia would provide Ukraine with a large number of tanks.
