The russian occupiers are using their submarines to strike "Kalibr" missiles on the territory of Ukraine.
This was reported by The Times.
"Missile launches from a depth of 50 meters below the surface are difficult to detect even with the help of satellites, but naval experts say that Paltus-class submarines regularly loaded missiles and long-range warheads in russian ports before disappearing underwater again," - reports the newspaper.
The publication notes that naval experts H.I. Sutton and B. Pittet believe that there is good reason to say that "Kalibr" missiles and warheads were loaded on russian submarines in these naval ports.
In particular, H.I. Sutton said that "Shortly before the invasion, we saw from open data how missiles were loaded onboard submarines. Moreover, missile loading continued after the beginning of the invasion."
Paltus-class submarines can launch "Kalibr" missiles using torpedo tube mounts. These missiles can cover distances up to 2,500 kilometers, reaching all Ukrainian regions from the Black Sea.
On 22 April 2022, the russian federation launched three missiles that could hit the nuclear reactor of the Pivdennoukrainska NPP (Nuclear Power Plant).
