The occupying authorities of the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region stated that the region "moves into the ruble zone" as of May 1. They noted that "the transition period will take up to 4 months." This was reported by the pro-Kremlin agency RIA-Novosti with reference to the self-proclaimed "deputy head" of the military-civil administration of the region Kirill Stremousov.
According to him, the occupiers plan to introduce a transition period of up to 4 months. Within this time, they want both hryvnias and rubles to be used. After that, they would like a full transition to the ruble to take place.
