Prosecutors of the Bucha District Prosecutor's Office have named the first 10 servicemen of 64 separate motorized infantry brigades of the russian Armed Forces as suspects in the abusive treatment of civilians in Bucha.
The General Prosecutor of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova wrote about this on the Facebook social network.
This status has been assigned to:
junior sergeant Vyacheslav Lavrentyev
private Grigory Naryshkin
private Vasily Knyazev
corporal Semyon Maltsev
private Sergei Peskarev
private Albert Radnaev
corporal Mikhail Kashin
corporal Andriy Bizyaev
corporal Dmytro Serhiienko
sergeant Nikita Akimov
"In a relatively short period, the investigation established that during the occupation of Bucha they took unarmed civilians hostage, tormented them with hunger and thirst, kept them on their knees with their hands tied and their eyes glued, mocked and beat them. Fists and butts of weapons were used,” said Venediktova.
People were beaten for the information about the location of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Territorial Defense Forces, and some were tortured for no reason. Russian servicemen threatened to kill the victims and imitated the execution of their prisoners by firing in their direction.
“We, of course, have evidence that these soldiers of the world's first army of looters robbed the local population, taking away personal belongings and "trophy" appliances. The role and participation of each of them in these crimes have been established through the investigation and collaborative work of prosecutors and police officers; journalists from "Slidstvo Info" also collected their personal data. We are currently checking these ten people for the involvement in the Bucha killings,” the statement said.
Those, who recognize these russian servicemen and have evidence of their involvement in other atrocities are asked to send evidence to the warcrimes.gov.ua platform or call the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office: 097-053-04-65, 097-838-31-87, 050-107-66-75; Bucha District Prosecutor's Office: 063-530-69-06.
Ukraine will create the Book of Executioners, a collection of information about every russian war criminal involved in atrocities in Ukraine.
