The US will help Ukraine to fight against the russian attacks as long as they last. The US is not attacking the rf, but helps Ukraine to defend itself from russia, said US President Joe Biden in his speech, devoted to Ukraine.
“Putin if he wants he can stop the invasion. Russia is an aggressor. And the world must bring it to the responsibility. The further aggression causes more human victims,” said the American President.
For the recent months Russia started to commit brutal attacks and the USA responded with weapons supplies in the extremely short terms.
“And the russian troops had to leave Kyiv. It doesn’t mean that they will not try to come back. They have left for now. And we provide Ukraine with weapons, howitzers, artillery systems. We provided 10 anti-tank systems for one russian tanks” he admitted.
Biden added that the powers for assignations, approved with the bill last month, are factually over. It means that de facto the money for support of Ukraine is over. That is why Biden sends to Congress the request about additional assignations.
The new request is about $33 bn for of additional support for Ukraine, in particular, for $20bn in military aid, as well as $8.5bn in economic aid.
“It is all about even more armored systems, artillery systems and others. It is also necessary to provide humanitarian aid such as dwelling, medicines, food. And to provide aid to those who wants to flee from the conflict to other countries,” the US President added.
He underlined that putin’s aggression is creating the food crisis as Ukraine was a big food exporter.
Regarding the gas blackmail by the rf, when it stopped gas supply to Poland and Bulgaria because of their decline to pay in roubles, Biden added that the US are negotiating with Korea and Japan to resist russia in this issue.
This is the second speech of the US president, devoted to Ukraine, this month. During the previous one he announced about the new $800 m aid to Ukraine.
