About 8,000 militaries from Great Britain will take part in large-scale training in Eastern Europe. The Guardian reported this.
The training is needed to sharpen the fighting methods against russian aggression within one of the largest deployments of NATO forces since the Cold War.
The Defense Ministry of Great Britain said the training had long been planned but was intensified to respond to russia's invasion of Ukraine. This summer, according to updated plans, dozens of tanks will be transferred to countries from Finland to Northern Macedonia.
They will be joined by tens of thousands of NATO militaries and Allied Expeditionary Forces militaries, including those from Finland and Sweden.
The deployment of Great Britain's militaries is expected to get to its peak between April and June, reaching around 8,000 people working in continental Europe.
"Europe's security has never been more important. During this training, our troops will join forces with allies and partners from NATO and Joint Expeditionary Force to demonstrate solidarity and strength in one of the largest joint deployments since the Cold War," - said the Minister of Defense of Great Britain, Ben Wallace.
Earlier, NATO General Shirreff said that the West should prepare for war with russia to restrain Putin.
