The holiday season in the Odesa region is threatened by mines in the sea.
Serhiy Bratchuk, the spokesman of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said this during a telethon, according to the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security telegram channel.
“To make the vacation in the Odesa region safe, first, it is necessary to demine the sea and coast, but this can be done only after our Victory,” he said.
According to Bratchuk, yesterday they deactivated a sea mine in the water area, and earlier mines were coming to Odesa beaches.
“These are mines that the russians scattered in the Black Sea. They officially admitted it, more than 400 pieces were scattered. They don't know where they are, and we don't know where they may come ashore,” he added.
According to him, it is still unknown when it will be safe.
“The holiday season, mildly speaking, is under the threat. It won't be in the way we used to understand it and refer to the holiday season. The safety of our citizens is our top priority,” the spokesman of the RMA stressed.
Russian occupants mined the route from the Bosphorus to Odesa, claiming that these were Ukrainian mines that blew off due to the storm. It is known about 420 mines.
