The strategy of prolonging the war in Ukraine is risky - the war must end quickly and in Ukrainian benefit. This was stated by Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar in an interview with LB.ua.
"There are different strategies. This strategy, that everyone is tired, everyone will run out of resources, this is not the best strategy, this is a very risky strategy. And so, the war must end quickly, the war must end in Ukrainian benefit, and the russian federation must be defeated at largest possible scale, as it is a threat to the whole world. And, in the end, it is a signal to other dictators that this is possible. That is, if putin isn’t stopped by the world, it will untighten hands of many [dictators], "said Anna Malyar.
However, according to her, there is a risk that Putin will not accept defeat, so in trying to stop him you need the support of other countries.
"We saw after Rammstein - the rockets went through the center of Kyiv. We saw the emotional reaction. But, well, we do not have to be alone in this struggle, and we need to find ways to stop him," said the Deputy Minister of Defense.
She also answered questions about a possible tactical pause that russia may consider for regrouping, but does not consider it an advantage of the SSU.
"If the war drags on, and two months is already dragging on, then all the troops need technological pauses, because the troops cannot stay indefinitely in one mode, if we are talking about it. Therefore, these pauses, of course, will be. But such pauses do not occur along the total frontline length, it is fragmental; there is a regrouping in some places, in others - other troops are in the active phase, in combat mode. And, in fact, now they are engaged. Therefore, expectation of a pause, and that the pause can be used somehow - no, probably, not"- said the representative of the Ministry of Defense.
According to Anna Malyar, russia's use of nuclear or chemical weapons cannot be ruled out.
