The Prosecutor General's Office has filed an indictment against a russian serviceman for killing a civilian in the Sumy region.

This was announced by Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova.

"The first russian serviceman will stand trial for the murder of a civilian in the Sumy region. The Prosecutor General's Office has sent an indictment to the court against the commander of unit 32010 "4th Panzer Kantemirov Division of the Moscow region" Vadim Shishimarin," she wrote on Facebook.

The investigation established that on February 28, 2022, a 21-year-old russian soldier killed an unarmed resident of the village of Chupakhivka, who was riding a bicycle along the roadside.

"Before that, the column, which included Sergeant Shishimarin, was smashed by our Ukrainian Armed Forces. While fleeing, he and four other officers fired at a private car and seized it. In a stolen car with punctured wheels, the invaders drove into the village. One of the servicemen ordered a sergeant to kill a civilian so that he would not report them to Ukrainian defenders. He fired several shots through the open window of a car from a Kalashnikov machine gun at the head of a 62-year-old victim. The man died on the spot just a few tens of meters from his house," the prosecutor general said.

Earlier, the SSU published intercepted telephone conversations in which the russian occupiers told their wives about killing Ukrainian mothers in front of their children.
