Due to international economic sanctions, russia cannot fully restore the combat capability of units withdrawn from Ukraine. The occupiers are now equipped with equipment and weapons of 50-60 years of production.
The russians have already lost a significant part of their military and technical potential during the war in Ukraine, according to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
However, this situation does not embarrass the Kremlin leadership, it does not care how much and on what to send "cannon fodder" in the fight for the future of the "russian world". There will always be something that has been rusting for decades in warehouses and that even third world countries did not want to buy at the time," the intelligence said.
The military is forced to report to the command on full staffing, although from long-term storage facilities most of the equipment cannot even be delivered to the units.
During April, the following were removed from the storage bases of the russian Federation:
- 18 Msta-S self-propelled artilleries from the arsenal of missile and artillery weapons of the Eastern Military District (Ussuriysk, Primorsky Krai);
- 28 Akatsiya self-propelled artilleries from the 94th Main Missile and Artillery Directorate arsenals (Omsk);
- 15 Msta-S, 5 Akatsiya and 20 Gvozdika self-propelled artilleries from the arsenal of complex storage of missile and artillery weapons (Gagarinsky, the Sverdlovsk region);
- 15 MLRS Hurricane and 11 tactical operational missile complex “Tochka-U” from 10th Main Missile and Artillery Directorate arsenals (Batareyna, the Irkutsk region).
“Restoration of the combat capability and manning of Western Allied troops is carried out, including through weapons and military equipment decommissioned from the 239th Mobilization Deployment Center (Boguchar),” is added in MDI of the Ministry of Defense.
According to British intelligence, the war in Ukraine is causing serious damage to one of russia's most capable units and the most advanced forces. russia will need considerable time and effort to rebuild its armed forces. It will be especially difficult to replace upgraded and improved equipment due to sanctions that limit russia's access to critical microelectronic components.
In addition, the russians use outdated missiles.
