Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko believes that the capital undoubtedly remains russia's main goal. In a comment to CNN, he said he was concerned about the possibility of the enemy applying tactical nuclear weapons.

"Security is a top priority now. Yes, of course, we are worried and hope that our defenders will protect us, but the risk is still there, and without our partners, without the United States and European countries, we will not survive," he said.

Klitschko once again reminded that it is impossible to guarantee the safety of Kyiv residents.

"As the mayor of Kyiv I tell everyone, I'm sorry, this is your personal risk, but we can't give you guarantees. As long as the war in Ukraine continues, we can't give guarantees to any Ukrainian," he said.

Today, about two-thirds of its residents have returned to the Ukrainian capital. Klitschko said that after May 9, the Kyiv inhabitants can gradually return to their homes, but no one can guarantee their safety.

In April US CIA Director William Burns said that because of the failures in the war against Ukraine, because of "potential despair", russian president Vladimir Putin may order the use of nuclear weapons, trying to create the illusion of victory in Ukraine.

As of early May, Burns said there were no signs of a nuclear strike.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that one cannot be sure that russia will or will not use nuclear weapons. After the russian shelling of Ukrainian nuclear power plants, it is impossible to be sure that they will not dare to launch a nuclear strike, he said.
