In Mariupol, russian troops are blocking underground exits from the Azovstal metallurgical plant, but Ukrainian defenders are launching counterattacks.
The adviser to the mayor of Mariupol Petro Andryushchenko reported about it in the Telegram channel.
"Yesterday the enemy did not stop trying to storm the ground. The main goal is to block the exits from the system of underground passages pointed out to the enemy by the traitor. Despite this, our defenders of Mariupol try to counterattack, risking everything,” he texted.
Andryushchenko also emphasized that one of the biggest problems is drones.
"If there was a way to blind or put them down, it would be much easier for us. And not only in Azovstal. We are all indebted to them," the mayor's adviser added.
Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk also today called on the world community to join the organization of the evacuation of wounded Ukrainian servicemen from the territory of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.
Earlier, the National Guard said that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the state leadership are working to find ways to evacuate civilians from Azovstal and are working on an extraction procedure for wounded soldiers, medics and the military, including with the help of the world community.
