Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court Karim Khan announced the arrival of 42 ICC investigators in Ukraine. They will investigate war crimes committed by the russian occupiers.

Karim Khan said this in an interview with the French Le Monde.

The prosecutor stressed that this was "the largest deployment ever made by his office."

The group of investigators includes 30 experts from the Netherlands, including forensic experts and analysts, who have to "find the facts and establish the truth."

According to Karim Khan, he does not care whether the ICC or national authorities will administer justice.

"The main thing is that the investigations are credible, honest and independent and that the judge can then make a decision," he said.

The Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has joined the joint investigation team of Ukraine, Lithuania, and Poland in the investigation of russian crimes.

A group of experts to investigate russian war crimes is also being sent by the United Kingdom.
