In order to increase the air defense system, in the northwestern part of the temporarily occupied Crimea, russia is setting two additional anti-aircraft missile battalions С-400.
This was reported in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In other directions of the front, the occupiers continue to shell the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and sometimes try to attack.
Thus, in the Slobozhanskyi direction, the russians shell Ukrainian troops in order to prevent their advance towards the state border. They also resumed assault operations in the area of the settlement of Ternov, but did not achieve success.
In the Sloviansk direction, the russians made an air strike in the area of the village of Bohorodychne and shelled with artillery the settlements of Husarivka, Chepil, Dolyna, and Sviatohirsk. In the area of the village Studenok enemy used multiple-launch rocket systems and heavy flamethrower systems, told the General Staff.
Occupation troops once again tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops in the Donetsk direction to surround and reach the administrative borders of the Luhansk region. At the same time, the main efforts of the occupiers focus on the Bakhmut direction.
The General Staff reported that active combat actions are not conducted in the Lyman direction; the enemy shelled units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and civilian facilities in Lyman.
The russians failed attempts to storm and attack the Severodonetsk and the Bakhmut directions. The enemies suffered losses and retreated.
In the South Bug direction, the occupiers shelled the positions of Ukrainian defenders and equip the defensive borders in the area of the settlement Posad-Pokrovskyi.
According to the Ukrainian command, in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson and the Zaporizhzhia regions, the invaders created 19 so-called commandants' offices.
“The moral and psychological state of the occupiers remains low, systemic consumption of alcoholic beverages and desertion is noted. The personnel of enemy units complains about the ineffectiveness of their attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” – the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stressed.
Earlier, on May 23, the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense Oleksandr Motuzianyk said that russia's main goal remains unchanged – an attempt to surround the Joint Forces, establish full control over the Donetsk, the Luhansk, and the Kherson regions and ensure the stability of the land corridor with the Crimea.
