On May 24, six people were killed and at least eight civilians were wounded in shelling by russian troops in Severodonetsk. Most victims are near bomb shelters.

The city holds the defense, announced by the Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration [RMA] Serhiy Haiday in Telegram.

"In recent days, when the residential area has been under constant fire, it is extremely difficult to get to the site of death. The russians are targeting crowds of people. Yes, they know that bomb shelters have been set up at Severodonetsk “Azot” [plant], and they are targeting their shells exactly there. Yesterday they killed four locals there, three more were hospitalized," he said.

Russians target schools as well because they know that there are shelters there. A woman was injured near one of the educational institutions yesterday.

"The occupier collects this information using drones, as well as data from spotters. So be careful - traitors may be among you. They allegedly hide from the shelling and receive humanitarian aid with everyone, but at the same time help the enemy," - said the head of RMA.

Two more men were killed in the old districts of the city, and four more were injured. One woman had to have her leg amputated.

Haiday stressed that the number of destroyed homes per day is now difficult to count. There are data on the destruction of two houses in Severodonetsk, four were damaged in Novodruzhesk, Vrubivka and Komyshuvakha, three - in Zolote and Toshkivka, two - in Katerynivka and Nyrkovo, one - in Hirske.

"At the moment, with the support of artillery, the russian occupiers are attacking Severodonetsk," he said.
